President's message regarding the August FMCA convention and Ed Fisher's request for inputs

Hello Dogwood!

As you know the big FMCA 105th International Rally is coming up in Lincoln, Nebraska on Aug 24-27, and our National Director, Ed Fisher, will be attending. At these International Rallies, FMCA conducts its annual business meeting covering budgets, committee reports, rules changes, and other items. It is truly "Big Business", but then, FMCA has over 80,000 members (yes!) so "business" takes a lot to work.

FYI - here's some data for you that I learned at GEAR: within FMCA, there are 74K+ coach families and 8700+ towable families, spread over 345 chapters. of which 24 (or thereabouts) make up our "Eastern" area.

The full packet of business to be covered at the Rally can be found on the FMCA website in the Governance tab, under Governing Board Mailings and is the .PDF file labeled "Governing Board Booklet". It's big, but covers all things to be discussed and voted on at the meeting. New business items and any particular club issues are to be discussed as well.

To that end and in preparation for the meeting, Ed Fisher has asked that all Dogwood members who want to bring up issues/comments/ideas/etc. to the National level to please let him know within the next few weeks. Ed's e-mail address is:

aandedfisher@gmail.com

This is important: FMCA belongs to and is governed by all of us. I encourage all Dogwood to consider this.

Thanks,

Ed Herbert

Dogwood President
