President’s Message – Jul/Aug 2025

Hello Dogwood – happy summer to all and I hope you are staying cool and enjoying the summer. The heat is on but the traveling is always cool!

Jean and I just got back from Red Bay, AL – we have a Tiffin; where else could we go? Yes we have a working set of Atwood Levelegs on the RV now. After a year of futzing with them, we did the drive (3 days down, 3 days back) and 45 minutes of repair in the camp yard. Amazing, to say the least. Along the way, I managed to hand out three Dogwood Fliers to fellow campers; none were familiar with FRVA, so I gave them the Dogwood pitch and a flier and told them to log onto FRVA as soon as they had good internet.  At one point we were driving along the Tammy Wynette Highway, so I  just had to sing “Stand by your Man” at the top of my lungs – Jean swears I’m crazy. Now I just have to get a couple more things fixed and we will be ready for Lancaster.

I also just saw the good news about Tom Spiezio – please keep those good prayers rolling for him. I also read the writeup on the Rally at Breaks Interstate Park – looks like they had a great time! Thanks to Lynn and Wayne for putting that together. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of the summer – stay safe.

That’s it for now – safe travels and we’ll see you down the road.

Ed Herbert, President

FRVA Dogwood Chapter

I was using our HWH jacks at our storage site (JBAB), and to my surprise, they would not retract. 6 hours of frustrating work, I can now declare myself an "expert" (wink-wink) on HWH hydraulic jacks. We can talk about your issue at the Christmas rally.
