Hello Dogwood! I’m sitting here Sunday night munching down on a bowl of Dill salted peanuts, after a great rally weekend in Virginia Beach with Lynn Nelson, Wayne Dancause, Cara & Roy Brinkley, and (of course) my better half, Jean. Look for Lynn’s writeup on the blogsite! As always with Dogwood, good company, good food, and good times. We came back from Virginia Beach via Route 460 and had to stop at the Virginia Diner in Wakefield for lunch. Then a quick trip across the street to Plantation Peanuts to stock up on all our favorite peanut snacks.
For the Dogwood folks on travel this month to Florida and beyond, please send us your travel stories and pictures. I love reading about these, particularly when you encounter good repair service while on the road, or RV problems that you solved yourself. By the way, FMCA printed 200 Dogwood flyers for me last month - no charge! I have been handing them out when I meet folks at the campgrounds, in line at the dump stations or in the RV service centers. I point out that RVs come with their own special problems but the best place to start for help is within your own chapter.
As for official Dogwood business to share today, I want to remind everyone about the upcoming FMCA Rally in Perry, GA. In March. I have signed us up for the Chapter Fair, and there is a chapter block party afterwards; FMCA donates $75 to each chapter to cover whatever expenses they might need. I’m not real sure how these block parties operate, so if any readers out there have experience with this, PLEASE call me. The Dogwood Banner has been located; and is being sent to me within the next week. (Thanks, Henry!)
Travel safe, and I hope to see you in Perry.
Regards,
Dogwood President
