Hello Dogwood! Our February rally has come to a close! When it was decided to try one in February when lots of our RV friends are in warmer weather, we decided to do one anyway!
Even thought there were only 3 coaches in attendance, We still had a great time!
Hosting was Lynn Nelson and Wayne Dancause. Our guests were the Brinkleys, Roy and Cara; and the Herberts, Ed and Jean.
The theme of the weekend was a food tour of different countries. All arrived on Thursday so that night was Taco night! The condiment bar selection was amazing, with Sangria and awesome Red Velvet cupcakes made by Jean for dessert. Friday and Saturday day times were open as each couple had other events to handle. After a great breakfast Friday morning provided by Roy and Cara, Cara and Lynn managed to get a little shopping time in. Roy was our chauffeur. Dodging the rain drops was the challenge on Friday! Friday night was Italian night and the group went around the corner from the campground to Angelo’s. Everyone enjoyed this small local restaurant. After, we went back to our coach where we had Chocolate Pecan pie and GAMES!!! The pictures tell it all! One game new to the group was called Fishbowl. Many laughs during the charade portion – with Wayne’s version of “Egyptian”, and Roy’s acting out “cat love”. Prizes were given to the winners!! Saturday night was a German meal of Sauerkraut and ribs, with Warm German potato salad. Cara made an incredible German Chocolate cake for dessert.
Ending our food adventure Sunday was continental spread with Quiche. I think we all gained several pounds in these 3 days! We were a little disappointed that more folks couldn’t join us. The weather certainly wasn’t our friend – BUT when you leave with fond memories of the friendships, fellowship, fun, stories, and my gosh, food -- we are still glad we made the decision to give February a try! Thank you for the opportunity to host again!
