Nominating Committee Update for the 2025-2026 Term

Hello Dogwood family,

 

We hope that all is well with you and your families and that you are having a great summer.

 

Now for some important Dogwood business concerning our upcoming Dogwood elections in the Fall.

 

To put it simply, WE NEED HELP filling several officer positions and we need it in the near future. 

 

In late May, we sent out an email with the status of all positions, and a request for volunteers to step up to fill the vacancies. Since that time, some things have changed.

 

Rob Hill has volunteered to accept the Alt National Director Position, and a Nominating Committee Member position. Thank you Rob.

 

Steve Sohles had originally accepted the positions of VP of Membership and Treasurer. Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, Steve is unable to accept those positions. We appreciate your consideration Steve and regret that you are unable to serve at this time.

 

With that said, here is where we are tentatively at:

 

President: Vacant

VP of Membership: Vacant

VP of Comm: David Meyer (incumbent) 

VP of Rallies: Del Tenney (incumbent)

Secretary: Mary Lou Dudziak 

Treasurer: Vacant

National Director: Ed Herbert 

Alt. National Director: Rob Hill     

  

Nominating Committee:

 

Chairman: Ed Herbert

Member: Rob Hill

Member: David McFarlane

 

Important notes:

 

For the past several terms, Pat Allen has served as the VP of Membership and the Treasurer. Those are distinct and separate positions but responsibilities somewhat overlap. However, someone stepping up to one of those positions does not necessarily have to step up for both. We just need to fill both positions.

 

Additionally, the VP of Membership is considered to be the Senior VP of Dogwood, and if for some reason, the Dogwood President had to step down, the VP of Membership would step up to President for the remainder of the term. Chances of this happening are slim. In Dogwood’s 28 year existence, it has happened one time. 

 

So as was stated earlier in this email, WE NEED HELP. Dogwood cannot operate as an Active Chapter without a President,  Senior VP, and Treasurer, and we will be forced to go to an inactive status on December 31, 2024 if we do not fill our vacant positions. 

 

Dogwood celebrated its 28th anniversary in June. We have a great, fun, and active chapter with a current membership of 60 RV families, but we must have leadership to keep it operating. It would be a very sad day if we had to dissolve our chapter.

 

So please, consider stepping up to support Dogwood and carry it forward into the future.
