Hey, we heard some great music! So who was here? Jean and I, the Buelows, the Cummings, the MacFarlanes, and the Sohles – a good crowd of music loving folks. Oh, and of course, the bands; there were 14 bands over the three days – that’s some music! We started Wednesday evening with a heavy appetizers and set up the canopy and tables for cooking, chairs and tables for socializing.
Thursday morning it was Bloody Mary’s and eggs to order. The music started around 12:30 and ran late into the evening; the weatherman was kind (no real rain), but pretty cold that night.
However, Friday morning saw us enjoying Margaritas (for Cinco De Mayo) and Saturday morning, Orange Crushes, in really good weather and even better food. The lady running the event, Ms. Billie Sue Goff, stopped by each morning to pick up our drink of the day; and informed us that she is putting together another music festival in September, but I think it will conflict with the Dogwood Roanoke Refuge plans. Will check on that later.
Paul Cummings took a lot of photos, a few videos, and several drone shots of our campsite; I’m hoping they make it to the Dogwood blog soon. In the meantime, attached is the group photo for your viewing pleasure. Anyway, keep playing that music and sending in those stories.
