President’s Message – Mar/Apr 2021

Hello Dogwood family! Spring has sprung and RV’ing is in the air. Along with all the beautiful flowers and pollen. The RV has a nice green tinge these days!

Lots going on around the club; Jean and I are planning the Natural Bridge Rally with the Kuikens, and have reserved our site in Gillette, WY for the International FMCA Rally in July. The Buelows and Sohles are laying plans for the August Rally at North Landing River in August and Planning continues for our 25th Anniversary Rally. Please check out the Rally Master report this month for the latest details.

Jean and I now have had our Covid shots and are starting to resume normal life. I have returned to working at the hospital twice a week and Jean has picked up her weekly bridge and board game sessions.  We took the RV out for the weekend two weeks back to visit our daughter and in-laws up in Nelson County and thoroughly enjoyed the mountains. I caught my very first rainbow trout – it was beautiful. I just got back from a weekend fishing trip with an old college chum, down on the Chickahominy River. What fun we had – I brought back a mess of catfish (“a mess?? Why, yes; a ‘mess’ it was”). I brought the RV; he brought the boat – seemed like a fair trade…. While at Rockahock Campground, I had the good fortune of dining with Buck and Linda Buchanan; what tales they have to tell about their travels and caravans! You two rock, that’s for sure. Great stories from them and from the Monaghans – please keep the tales coming; I love reading them!

As always, stay safe, travel safe, and enjoy the trip.

Regards,

Ed Herbert

Dogwood President
