This year's GEAR (Great Eastern Area Rally) will be held from October 9 to 13 at the York Expo Center in York, PA. Those of us who attended GEAR last year at this location enjoyed the venue and area. You can register on-line at FMCA through the Area Rallies section or with the application in the FMCA magazine.
I will be hosting several activities for Dogwood Chapter. First, on Wednesday, October 9 at 11:15 am, we're going to visit the Turkey Hill Experience in Columbia, PA--about 30 minutes from the Expo Center. Turkey Hill Experience is a fun, interactive facility highlighting the manufacturing of Turkey Hill Teas and Ice Cream--with unlimited samples! Cost is about $10 per person. There is also a very interesting National Watch and Clock Museum in Columbia that you can visit with a combo ticket from Turkey Hill Experience. We'll carpool from Expo Center and will be back in time for the Chapter Fair.
Secondly, some of the women may be interested in joining with the group of "Stitchers" that Liz Jones has organized. We'll do that on Friday, October 11 at 2 pm at my coach. Just bring along whatever you're working on and Show and Tell is always welcome.
Also, I've reserved a seminar room for a Happy Hour. On Friday, October 11 from 5:15 to 6:30 pm we have use of Seminar C. Invite someone to join the chapter and bring them along to this Happy Hour. BYOB and a snack to share.
