Outgoing President's Message December 2020

Outgoing Presidents Message by Jim Buelow              12-18-20

Ed Herbert and Jim Buelow

Holidays Greetings to the Dogwood Family, I hope that all of you are healthy.

As this year comes to an end, so does my time as your President for the past 4 years. This will also be the last newsletter for 2020. It includes among other articles, the meeting minutes from our December 12, 2020 Dogwood ZOOM Business meeting. As the minutes contain most of the articles we normally include in a newsletter, those articles will not be posted separately. So please take the time to read the entire minutes as they contain some important information.

This year has been a challenging and frustrating time, the world has changed due to COVID. All of us, either personally, or through family or friends, have suffered illness or even death as a result of this terrible situation, and it is not over yet. But with the development and distribution of the new vaccine, along with continuing to exercise SAFE health practices, we will get through this. Be careful and be SAFE.

I again want to sincerely thank the Officers, Committee Members, and the entire membership, for your support and trust. We set some goals 4 years ago and most of them were achieved. Those accomplishments are ours, not mine. THANK YOU.

I want to personally thank Paul Cumming’s for his service as our VP of COMM. It is a challenging, time consuming, and highly technical position. A close working relationship with the Dogwood membership is also required, especially with the President. During a recent conversation, Paul made the comment that “we were married, but that it was not always a marriage made in heaven. Yeah, we were separated several times (LOL). But in the end, we always “GOT ER DONE” and we are still friends, and for that I am grateful. Thank you Paul for a SUPER JOB.

And again, I want to welcome Ed Herbert, the new Executive Board, and Committee Members. I am very confident that they will take Dogwood to the next level. Thank you for stepping up, and good luck Ed and Team.

Susan and I are going to take a little break, but we will still be involved in FMCA, EAMA and Dogwood, and available to assist at any time. It has been a good ride, and we look forward to our continued involvement and friendship with the Dogwood family.

On behalf of Susan and me, we wish all of you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays, and a Happy, Healthy, SAFE and Blessed New Year.

Regards,

Jim Buelow, Outgoing President
